Definition

雨がとても激しく、絶え間なく降る状態のこと。比喩的に多量の液体が一気に流れる時にも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ほとんどの場合、強い雨について使われます。例えば「It’s pouring down」や「the rain poured down」など。ほかの液体にも比喩的に使うことがありますが、稀です。
