गमले में पौधा या बीज डालना और मिट्टी से भरना ताकि वह अच्छे से उग सके। आमतौर पर इनडोर पौधों की शुरुआत या गमला बदलने के लिए किया जाता है।

यह शब्द मुख्य रूप से बागवानी में उपयोग होता है। आम वाक्यांशः 'potting soil' (गमले की मिट्टी), 'potting bench' (पौधा लगाने की मेज)। 'pot' के अन्य अर्थों से भ्रमित न हों। औपचारिक रूप में आमतौर पर क्रिया के रूप में नहीं आता।
