Definition
Las papas o patatas son verduras redondas u ovaladas que crecen bajo tierra. Se cocinan y se comen de muchas maneras, por ejemplo hervidas, al horno, fritas o hechas puré.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Es el plural de 'potato'. En inglés aparece mucho en combinaciones como 'mashed potatoes', 'roast potatoes', 'sweet potatoes' y 'potato chips'. No se usa para el singular: se dice 'a potato'.
