Definition

ポンツーンは、水に浮かび、橋やボート、建物などを支える中空の平らな構造物です。小型の水上機や水上ボートの下に取り付けられた浮き部分も指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に建設、ボート、水上機など技術的な文脈で使われます。「pontoon bridge」「pontoon boat」などと組み合わせて使います。「platoon」（小隊）とは異なります。
