Definition

ポンポンとは、布や毛糸で作られたふわふわの小さなボールで、主に飾りやチアリーダーのパフォーマンスで使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にチアリーダーが使うアイテムとして有名ですが、帽子や洋服の飾りにも用いられます。単数形はあまり使いません。
