華やかさや壮麗さとは、格式ある行事や祝典などで見られる盛大で豪華な雰囲気や演出のことです。

格式の高い公的行事や『pomp and circumstance』のような表現で使われることが多いです。見せかけだけの豪華さや過剰な演出をやや皮肉にも表現します。
