어렵거나 지루하거나 장애물이 있을 때에도 어떤 일을 계속하는 것. 포기하지 않는다는 뜻으로 자주 씀.

영국 영어에서 자주 쓰는 비격식 표현. 공부나 작업처럼 지루하거나 힘든 일에 흔히 씀('plough on with homework'). 꺼리면서도 계속한다는 뉘앙스.

Even when he was tired, he decided to plough on with his homework.

피곤했지만 그는 숙제를 **계속했다**.
