Definition

যখন দুটি রেখা বা পৃষ্ঠ ৯০ ডিগ্রি কোণে একে অপরকে কাটে, তখন তারা একে অপরের লম্ব হয়। বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্র যেমন গণিত ও জ্যামিতিতে ব্যাপকভাবে ব্যবহৃত।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

প্রধানত গণিত ও কারিগরি ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'perpendicular to' মানে 'কারো অথবা কারো লম্ব' (যেমন: 'The wall is perpendicular to the floor' মানে 'দেয়াল মেঝের লম্ব'). 'parallel' (সমান্তরাল)-এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
