少しずつ、またはあまり興味を持たずに食べること。鳥がくちばしで何度もつつく場合にも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「peck at」はくだけた表現で、人にも動物にも使われます。食べ物の場合（"peck at your food"）、興味がない時や、好き嫌いして少しずつ食べる様子に使います。大量に食べる場合には使いません。「pick at」に似ていますが同じではありません。
