Definition

धीरे-धीरे या बिना रुचि के थोड़ा-थोड़ा खाना, अक्सर खाने से जुड़ा होता है। यह भी दर्शाता है जब पक्षी अपनी चोंच से बार-बार कुछ छूते हैं या काटते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Peck at' अनौपचारिक है, लोगों और जानवरों दोनों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। आमतौर पर खाने के लिए ("peck at your food") बिना रुचि या चुनकर खाने को दिखाता है, और पक्षियों के लिए भी जब वे चोंच मारते हैं। ज्यादा खाने के लिए नहीं। 'pick at' से मिलता-जुलता है लेकिन अलग है।
