अधिकतर अनौपचारिक; कागज़, खाना या तस्वीर जैसी चीज़ों के लिए आम। कभी-कभी रूपक रूप में ('अफवाह घुमाना') भी प्रयोग होता है। 'pass out' (सभी को एक साथ देना) से न मिलाएँ।
