어떤 일이나 과정이 시작과 끝 사이, 즉 완전히 끝나지 않고 어느 정도 진행된 상태를 말합니다.

'partway'는 주로 'through', 'up', 'down', 'into'와 함께 써서 어느 지점까지만 진행됐음을 말합니다. '완전히'라는 뜻은 없고, 일상 대화에서 많이 씁니다.

We stopped partway up the mountain to rest.
