Definition

কোনো নেতা, দল, ধারণা বা উদ্দেশ্যের প্রতি শক্তিশালীভাবে সমর্থনকারী ব্যক্তি, অথবা দখলদার বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে লড়া বিদ্রোহী দলভুক্ত যোদ্ধাকে বোঝায়।

রাজনৈতিক প্রেক্ষাপটে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। ইতিহাসে, বিশেষ করে দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে, 'partisan' মানে প্রতিরোধ যোদ্ধা। 'participant' এর সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
