난간파라펫

Definition

건물의 옥상, 발코니, 다리 등의 가장자리에 설치되는 낮은 보호 벽으로, 떨어지는 것을 방지한다.

주로 건축이나 군사 맥락에서 사용되며, "castle parapets", "bridge parapets"처럼 건물이나 다리, 성 등에 많이 나온다. 항상 낮고, 전체 벽이 아님.

The old castle still had strong parapets on its walls.

오래된 성벽에는 여전히 튼튼한 **난간**이 남아 있었다.
