진심이 아닌 채 누군가의 환심을 사기 위해 지나치게 맞춰주거나 아부하는 행동. 보통 부정적인 의미로 사용됨.

주로 정치나 판매 상황 등에서 부정적으로 씀. 예: 'pandering to voters'는 유권자에게 영합한다는 의미. 진실된 호의가 아님.
