'Paddling' आमतौर पर छोटे नावों (जैसे कैनो, कायक) को चप्पू से चलाने या बच्चों द्वारा उथले पानी में खेलने के लिए प्रयोग होता है। इसमें हल्का, खेल जैसा आंदोलन होता है; ‘pedaling’ (साइकिल चलाना) से न मिलाएँ।
