Definition
Substituir textos, dados ou ficheiros existentes por novas informações, apagando o que estava lá antes.

Usado principalmente em contextos informáticos/de tecnologia. Frases comuns: 'overwrite a file', 'overwrite data'. O conteúdo antigo é apagado ao sobrescrever. Não confundir com 'override'.
