Definition

権限を持つ人が、以前の決定や提案などを正式に無効にすること。

主に法律や公式な場で使います。例：'objection を却下する', 'decision を覆す'。日常会話ではあまり使いません。

The judge overruled the lawyer's objection.

裁判官は弁護士の異議を**却下**した。

The referee overruled the decision after checking the replay.

審判はリプレイを確認した後、判定を**覆した**。
