Definition

鉱石とは、金属やその他の価値ある物質を取り出すための岩石や鉱物のことです。

主に科学・産業分野で使われます。「鉄鉱石」「鉱石の採掘」などと使われ、「ミネラル」とは異なります。ミネラルは必ずしも金属や価値あるものを含むとは限りません。
