'Oratory' একটি গম্ভীর শব্দ, অপ্রসঙ্গিক কথোপকথনের জন্য নয়; বরং জনসমক্ষে ভাষণ দেওয়ার শিল্প বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'master of oratory', 'political oratory' এর মতো শব্দগুলিতে প্রচলিত। 'oration' (স্পিচ) এবং 'oratorio' (সঙ্গীত রচনা) থেকে আলাদা।
