कुछ करने ही वाला होना; किसी चीज़ को शुरू करने या अनुभव करने के बिलकुल करीब होना।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

औपचारिक या अर्ध-औपचारिक; अक्सर लिखित या भाषण में प्रयोग होता है। अंग्रेज़ी में इसके बाद '-ing' वाला verb ('on the point of leaving') आता है। 'about to' जैसा ही है। भूतकाल के लिए नहीं।
