"on the contrary" in Japanese

直前の発言と反対の内容や対立する意見を述べるときに使う表現です。相手の誤解を正すときにも使われます。

フォーマル・セミフォーマルな場面でよく使い、誤解を正したいときや真逆の考えを強調するときに便利です。「on the other hand」とは違い、対立や否定に重点があります。
