待機中スタンバイ

Definition

必要なときにすぐ使える、または行動できるように待機している状態。今は動いていませんが、すぐに始動できます。人や機械の両方に使います。

「on standby」は日常会話や技術用語で使われます。例:「TV is on standby」「staff are on standby」「standby ticket」。準備はできているが、まだ動いていない状態を表します。動詞「stand by」と区別してください。

Please keep your phone on standby in case we need to contact you.

連絡が必要な場合に備えて、携帯電話を**待機中**にしておいてください。
