अगर दो लोग बोलचाल में हैं, तो वे कम से कम एक-दूसरे से बात कर सकते हैं, भले ही बहुत घनिष्ठ न हों।

अक्सर तब बोला जाता है जब पहले झगड़ा हुआ हो या फिर सिर्फ़ औपचारिक बात हो रही हो। 'Not on speaking terms' का मतलब है बिल्कुल बात न करना।
