分枝とは、主となる植物から伸びる枝や、大きなものから派生してできた新しい組織や製品、アイデアなどを指します。

植物の枝にも、親組織からの派生した事業やサブグループなどにも使います。「offshoot of～」で「～から生まれた」と表現されます。
