Bir şey 'ilgi çeken' veya 'önemli' ise, dikkat çekici, faydalı ya da önemli olduğu anlamına gelir. Genellikle resmi ve akademik ortamlarda kullanılır.

'of interest' ifadesi rapor, araştırma veya haber gibi resmi ve akademik metinlerde yaygındır; gündelik konuşmada kullanılmaz. 'of interest to...' yapısı sık geçer; 'interested' (kişisel his) ile karıştırmayın.
