Notar ou ver algo com atenção, geralmente com um propósito específico. Também pode significar seguir regras ou tradições.

Muito usado em contextos formais ou científicos: 'observed behavior', 'It was observed that...'. Pode indicar tanto observar atentamente quanto seguir costumes ('observed a holiday'). Não é o mesmo que 'watched' (assistir casualmente) ou 'noticed' (perceber de repente).
