オベリスクとは、上部が尖った四角柱の石塔です。主に記念碑やランドマークとして使われ、起源は古代エジプトにあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「オベリスク」は、主に歴史的建造物や建築の特徴を指すフォーマルな言葉です。有名なランドマーク以外の日常会話ではあまり使われません。「モニュメント（monument）」とは意味が違うので注意してください。
