数字とは、1や2、3のように数を表す記号や文字のことです。

「数字」は主に数学や教育、言語学で使われるやや固い表現です。数そのものではなく、1や2などの記号を指します。『アラビア数字』『ローマ数字』などの言い方で用いられます。
