Definition
কিছু বাধা বা প্রতিকূলতা থাকলেও কোনো কিছু ঘটে বা সত্য থাকে বলে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

আধুনিক কথ্য ভাষায় কম ব্যবহৃত; প্রায়ই বাক্যের শুরু, শেষে বা কোনো বিশেষ্যর পরে আসে। আলাপচারিতায় 'despite' বা 'in spite of' বেশি সাধারণ।
