비영리 단체는 이익을 소유주나 주주에게 분배하지 않고, 수익을 사회적, 교육적 또는 자선 목적 달성을 위해 사용하는 조직입니다.

주로 '비영리 단체'로 사용되며, 수익이 발생해도 다시 단체의 목적에 사용되어야 합니다. '운영하다(run a nonprofit)' 등과 자주 쓰입니다.
