否定とは、主に「〜ない」や「決して〜ない」などの言葉を使って、物事を否定したり反対を示したりすることです。論理学では「正しくない」と主張することを指します。

主に言語学や論理学、文法の話で使われる正式な言葉です。「double negation（二重否定）」や「statementの否定」のように使います。日常会話ではあまり使いません。「否認」（denial）とは違い、感情的な拒否を指しません。
