身廊（しんろう）

Definition

教会で、参拝者が座る中央の広い部分のことを指します。主に建築や宗教に関する場面で使われます。

主に建築や宗教、教会について話すときに使われます。日常会話ではあまり使われません。「main nave」「central nave」などの表現があります。「navy」（海軍）とは意味が異なります。

The wedding was held in the nave of the cathedral.
