Definition

为纪念某人、事件或历史重要时期建造的大型建筑或雕像。纪念碑可以是著名的旅游景点，也可以是本地重要地点。

“Monuments” 指的是较大且具有重要意义的建筑物，不用于指小型纪念物。常用搭配有“历史纪念碑”、“参观纪念碑”、“国家纪念碑”。不要与“雕像”混淆，雕像通常只是单个人或动物并不一定用于纪念。
