ものや力を適切でない方法や目的で使うこと。しばしば問題や悪い結果を生むことがある。

よく「権力」「薬」「情報」「言葉」などと組み合わせて使う。深刻な害意よりも、想定外のマイナス結果を指すが、重度の被害を表す「abused」とは異なる。
