모임이나 행사에 참여하고 다른 사람들과 어울리며 활동이나 대화의 일부가 되는 것. 상황이나 환경에 자연스럽게 섞이는 경우에도 사용한다.

주로 비공식적이고 사회적인 상황에서 사용됨. 'mingle in with the crowd'처럼 자연스럽게 섞여 들어가는 느낌. 'mix in'은 사물에, 'mingle in'은 사람에 주로 씀.

It's easy to mingle in at family gatherings.
