サッカーなどのスポーツで、守備と攻撃の間に位置するフィールドの中央部分。

主にサッカーで使われる言葉ですが、他のフィールドスポーツにも使われます。「ミッドフィールドの選手」「ミッドフィールドを制する」などとよく言います。
