Definition

誰かに簡単に何かを伝えたり言及したりすること。

「mention to」は「誰々に伝える」という意味で使います。「about」はつけません。「talk to」より少しフォーマルです。

I forgot to mention to the teacher that I was sick.

先生に自分が病気だったことを**伝える**のを忘れました。
