Passou de sólido para líquido devido ao calor. Normalmente usado para gelo, chocolate ou metais.

Normalmente usado como adjetivo ('melted cheese') ou verbo no passado ('The ice melted'). Mais comum com comida ou substâncias alteradas pelo calor. Não se usa para pessoas ou emoções ('softened' é melhor para sentimentos). Colocações comuns: 'melted butter', 'melted chocolate'.
