Definition

メラニンは皮膚や髪、目に含まれる天然の色素で、これらに色を与え、紫外線から守る働きがあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「メラニン」は生物学や医学、スキンケアの分野で使われる専門用語です。数えられません（「1メラニン」とは言いません）。「melanin levels」や「melanin production」のような表現でよく出てきます。人工色素には使いません。
