별로 뛰어나지 않고 그냥 평범하거나 보통 수준인 것을 뜻함.

'mediocre'는 주로 'performance', 'result', 'work'와 같이 실망이나 아쉬움을 나타낼 때 쓴다. 'average'(중립적), 'awful'(매우 부정적)과는 의미가 다르다.
