Definition

乳突炎は、耳の後ろにある乳突骨が感染して起こる重い病気です。多くの場合、中耳炎が治療されずに進行した場合に発症します。

医療専門用語であり、日常会話ではほとんど使われません。「急性乳突炎」「慢性乳突炎」などと共に使われ、小児の耳の感染症に関連してよく出てきます。
