المارّيپوسا هي حشرة طائرة ذات أجنحة كبيرة وملونة، وتسمى بالإنجليزية butterfly.

"مارّيپوسا" تعني "فراشة"، وتستخدم لوصف الحشرة الملونة الجميلة. لا تخلط بينها وبين "عثة" التي تعني moth.

The mariposa has beautiful wings.
