Definition
Malhos são ferramentas com cabeças grandes, geralmente de madeira ou borracha, usadas para bater sem quebrar; também podem ser baquetas macias utilizadas para tocar instrumentos de percussão como xilofone ou marimba.

"Mallets" pode ser tanto ferramentas para golpear suavemente (malho de carpintaria) quanto baquetas usadas em instrumentos de percussão. Na música, costuma-se especificar ("baquetas de xilofone"). Não confundir com "martelo", que é para batidas mais fortes.
