Definition

グループや大会の中で必要な基準を満たして、選ばれること。

主に試験、オーディション、仕事やチームの選考で使われます。「make a cut」とは意味が異なります。「didn't make the cut」は「選ばれなかった」という意味です。

Only five players will make the cut for the final team.

最終メンバーに**選ばれる**のは5人だけだ。
