レンズや装置で物を実際より大きく見せること。または、問題などを必要以上に大きく扱うこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

科学的に（顕微鏡など）や比喩的に（問題を大きくする）使われる。'enlarge'は実際の大きさを増すが、'magnify'は見かけや意味を強調する。
