"lowlands" in Portuguese (PT)
Definition
Áreas de terra situadas a uma altitude inferior à do terreno em volta, muitas vezes perto de rios, mares ou outros corpos de água. Usado em oposição a 'highlands'.
Usage Notes (Portuguese (PT))
Usado sobretudo em geografia, normalmente no plural. Pode escrever-se com maiúscula ao nomear regiões específicas ('Lowlands da Escócia'). Oposto de 'highlands'. Não se aplica a cidades.
