अस्तर वे सामग्री की परतें होती हैं जो कपड़ों, बैगों या डिब्बों के अंदर लगाई जाती हैं ताकि अधिक आराम, सुरक्षा या सजावट मिल सके।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Linings' का सबसे ज़्यादा उपयोग कपड़ों (जैसे कोट, बैग) या निर्माण (पाइप, कंटेनर) में होता है। आम वाक्यांश: 'coat linings', 'bag linings', 'silver linings'। इसे 'lining up' (कतार में लगना) से न मिलाएँ। कभी-कभी यह रूपक रूप में 'silver linings' के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है।
