Definition
O ato de erguer algo a uma posição mais alta, geralmente usado para pegar objetos ou, em esportes, para descrever o levantamento de peso.

Muito usado para exercícios físicos ('weight lifting'), mas também para o ato geral de levantar objetos. No esporte, costuma significar especificamente levantar pesos. Não se refere a dar carona ('give a lift').
