Definition

নদী বা সমুদ্রের জল প্লাবন ঠেকাতে তৈরি বড়ো মাটির দেওয়াল বা উঁচু বাঁধ।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Levee' সাধারণত নদী বা প্লাবন প্রতিরোধে ব্যবহৃত হয়, 'dam' অর্থাৎ বাঁধের সঙ্গে মিশিয়ে ফেলবেন না; কারণ বাঁধ পুরোপুরি পানি আটকায়, লেভি পাশে করে রাখা হয়।
